Welcome to Life Skills Enterprise

Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Life Skills Enterprise School.

Paul Barrett, Headteacher

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. As both an Executive Principal and a father of a son with autism, I understand that decision from both a professional and a personal perspective.

Watching my own son grow into adulthood has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Like many families, we have celebrated achievements that others may have taken for granted, overcome challenges together and seen first-hand how the right support, patience, belief and opportunities can transform a young person’s future. His journey continually reminds me that potential should never be limited by diagnosis.

That belief has shaped my career and continues to influence every decision we make at our Life Skills schools including Life Skills Enterprise. Our school was founded on a simple but powerful principle: every child deserves to be understood before they are taught. When young people feel safe, valued and genuinely believed in, they begin to develop the confidence to take risks, embrace challenges and discover what they are truly capable of achieving.

We are ambitious for every pupil. Academic progress matters, but so too do confidence, communication, resilience, emotional wellbeing, independence and preparing successfully for adult life. These are the foundations that enable our young people to thrive long after they leave our school.

Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to build trusting relationships with pupils and their families. We recognise that no two children are the same, which is why our approach is personalised, nurturing and aspirational. We celebrate every success, whether it is a first conversation, a qualification achieved, a return to education or a young person taking confident steps towards employment, further education or independent living.

I firmly believe that outstanding education changes lives. Not because it removes every barrier, but because it equips young people with the confidence, skills and self-belief to overcome them. It is an enormous privilege to lead Life Skills Enterprise School and to work alongside such a talented and committed team every day. Together, we strive to create an environment where every child feels they belong, every family feels supported and every young person is given the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

Thank you for visiting our website. I hope it provides a glimpse into the passion, care and ambition that define our school. I warmly invite you to visit us, meet our team and experience firsthand the welcoming community that makes Life Skills Enterprise School such a special place.

I look forward to welcoming you and your family.

Careers & Post-16 Preparation

Life Skills Enterprise is designed with careers and post-16 preparation in mind. It will offer a variety of therapies and interventions and also core curriculum subjects such as Maths and English in order to prepare young people for adulthood.

The Venue

Register Your Interest

The venue has huge scope to develop community links with its secret garden and excellent location with nearby businesses. This environment gives young people the chance to explore future pathways and venture into the world of work. The links with vocational job opportunities is strong, and being so close to the creative arts associated with Margate is something the school will definitely look to fully utilise.

The Provision
